The school holidays can be an expensive time, but this May half term we’ve got it covered for you!
We’ve had a look through our site and found a fun selection of free events happening around the county.
There are also a couple of events where either children or adults get in for free – so we’ve included these too!
Saturday 24th May at 11:30 – Broadstairs
Boys and girls, come gather round and join Nancy and Fagin in his den for some mischievous fun and games.Using sound, touch and even smell Fagin will weave his tales bringing them to life and in an uncharacteristic fit of generosity no child will leave empty handed.
Limited Places so please book in advance
Tickets : Free for all children aged 3 onwards
available from Helterskelter or e-mail Annasel@
29th May – 1st June – 2pm – Sevenoaks
Get out and about with our free guided park strolls, suitable for all ages. Keep your eyes peeled for the signs of summer as our experienced park leaders point out interesting things in Kent’s last medieval deer park. If you’re lucky you might spot some of our most famous residents- the deer! Bring along your 50 Things scrapbook and you might be able to tick off some ‘things’ you’re missing. Meet our friendly walk leaders outside the new Outdoor Cafe- they’ll be wearing their badge so they’re easy to spot. Please phone ahead if we can make any special arrangement for you, we’ll be happy to help. All ages are welcome. Dogs on leads welcome!
24th – 31st May – Canterbury
Alongside bookable shows and workshops, there are free drop-in activities all week at The Marlowe Studio (attached to the theatre), The Beaney and The Roman Museum in Canterbury. These include a teddy bear story drop-in, a monster picnic and a theatre tour.
Children under 14 free – Adults £8 (so not exactly free…but not too expensive either!)
A fantastic day of foodie fun for all the family! You’ll find a huge barn packed with local artisan produce and a well stocked children’s zone!
Children £6 – Adults Free (so another event that won’t be too hard on your wallet!)
Brogdale Beastie Day is a hands-on fun filled activity. We’ll be Bug and Beastie hunting in the Orchards, followed by face to face meetings with giant insects and bugs in The Bug Roadshow. Kids will then have the opportunity to do crafts using items they have foraged from the orchards such as barks and leaves.
This half term you could try out a Right Track Music free taster sessions for one of the instrument tuitions they offer:
Guitar lessons; Electric, Acoustic, Classical & Bass
