We’ve been to the Marlowe nearly every year to see their pantomime, and we always enjoy it!
Each year, we wonder whether they’ll be able to keep up the amazing performances.
Well they certainly have with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
It was brilliant! So funny on lots of different levels – which was great when children were laughing at certain jokes, and adults at others.
The cast, as always, were wonderful. Phil Gallagher (Mister Maker) returned for another year;
Rita Simons (Roxy from EastEnders) starred as the evil queen in her first ever pantomime;
Rita was perfect in the role, and you really couldn’t have known that she hadn’t done this many times before.
Ben Roddy did another fantastic turn as ‘Nurse Nellie’ this year and his banter with Lloyd Hollett and Phil Gallagher is hilarious.
You can really see how much fun all the cast have with this pantomime – which is a testament to the hard work of Paul Hendy and everyone from the production team at Evolution.
They really stepped it up a notch this year – with exciting high wire entrances, surprising special guests and 3D glasses for the age old ghost-gag bench!
They also included a pretty spectacular roller skating act which elicited both gasps of delight and concern from the audience.
My four year old loved it all – even the spiders!
He was pretty much mesmerised throughout and the delight was obvious when we explained that that interval wasn’t the end of the show.
We also took our 11 month old with us and he loved the lights at the music so it was a win/win!
If you’re considering booking – then do it – you won’t be disappointed!
