Over the summer holidays so far, we’ve had some lovely days out in Kent.
We also popped over the border to East Sussex too…
Stepping on to the platform at Tenterden for the Kent & East Sussex Railway, is like stepping back through time!
You’re immediately transported back decades to a time with the steam trains would have been a regular site in Kent.
The boys loved investigating all the sites at the station.
But then it was time to board 🙂
The journey to Bodiam was great.
Lots of people and cars to wave at through the windows.
We then had a lovely time at Bodiam Castle, which is only a short walk from the station.
Each time we go, the fish in the moat seem to be getting bigger and bigger…
…they could be seen pushing the ducks out of the way to make sure they got some food!
After a few hours at the castle and a delicious picnic (if I do say so myself!), we jumped back on the train for the journey back to Tenterden.
On arrival, we were greeted with a friendly station master directing us to the Punch & Judy show which was just about to start.
Mr Mystery and Billy (his rabbit) did a show that the watching children found hilarious!
The show was part of the KESR’s summer events – click here to see what’s happening for the rest of the holidays.
